ADI Guidelines for Essential Driver Training

EDT Driving Lessons is a programme of 12 one hour driving lessons required by the RSA for anyone learning to drive before taking the drivers test for licencing. The programme was created to assist Approved Driving Instructors (ADI’s) to “build a new driver culture which will result in better drivers and safer roads.” The lessons are designed to directly combat risks in certain driving situations that have been shown to contribute to collisions and deaths on Irish roads. By equipping learner drivers with the skills and awareness to better meet these risks, we can make our learners better and safer drivers.
