Traffic Signs: Regulatory Road Signs

Irish regulatory road signs are designed and prescribed by the Minister for Transport for regulating traffic in Ireland. The Department of Transport dictates which traffic signs should be used by Road Authorities and in which situations.

In this post we provide a summary of regulatory road signs. Regulatory signs are an important part of driving in Ireland and also make up a portion of your driving theory test. So the more familiar you are with each sign and their meanings the better. For a more in-depth understanding of the traffic signs, their design and the regulation behind them, we provide an excerpt from the 2010 Traffic Signs Manual, provided by the Department of Transportation.
